SOUNDS FOR SATURDAY

BBC2
25th March 1972 - 9th September 1972

A series of live concerts, sometimes without an audience, produced by Stanley Dorfman.

The series kicked off with drummer Buddy Rich, and continued with Faces, James Last and his Orchestra, The Oscar Peterson Trio, Tom Paxton, Elton John, Harry James Orchestra, Richie Havens etc, proving an eclectic mix of rock, folk, middle of the road and jazz.

An excerpt from 'Roundabout' by Yes was used as the theme on some shows.
