NB During rehearsals guest Johnny Cash took exception to guitarist Joe Brown’s playing style and subsequently he was fired. When Cash returned two weeks’ later he asked where the guitarist was he was told that he was sacked. Feeling guilty about Brown’s predicament sent him a very expensive pair of cowboy boots as a way of apology. The boots were so expensive Brown couldn’t play the customs duty until the Post Office desk manager charged him the rate for the boots as second hand.
