Pop Music on British Television 1955 - 1999

Border Television, producer of Mr and Mrs decided to chuck in another youth-aimed pop show during The Tube's 1985 summer holiday. Hosted by Muriel Gray and Nick Laird-Clowes (both from The Tube) the show was broadcast from Carlisle and produced by Janet Street-Porter.

The show would feature live acts, interviews, articles, and archive clips from shows like 20th Century Box, The London Weekend Show and Alright Now. It also occasionally featured an celebrity Agony Uncle/Aunt spot. The show's highlight was a spectacularly ill-tempered interview between host Murial Gray and members of Dexy's Midnight Runners.

Even though the show only stuck around for the one season there was a sequel in the form of Bliss In Concert which played across many ITV channels in 1986.
