Pop Music on British Television 1955 -
A series which captures the best of British, Irish and international folk singers in their own locale with accompanying photos and film from local cameramen.
The first series caught Ian Campbell in Birmingham, Ralph McTell in Plumstead, Jeremy Taylor in Blackpool, David Campbell in Moss Side, Jake Thackaray in the Yorkshire Dales, followed in 1976 by Tom Paxton in Oklahoma, Murray McLaughlan in Toronto, Hoyt Axton in various locales across the USA, Victoria Wood in suburbia, etc.
Each singer would give a running commentary on their town and why it was so important to them, while local cameramen found and photographed the best locations.
