A series of bought-in concerts played as a kind-of Whistle Test comes to BBC1. Hosted
by Ann Nightingale the shows consisted of half-hour edited versions of sell-through
live concert tapes, or shows bought from foreign channels or production companies.
Nothing appeared to be generated by the BBC itself. There would be similar attempts
to do this by Channel 4 on a Friday evening with High band when the Tube went on
its summer holidays.
To confuse matters as soon as the BBC had finished with the name it was pinched by
ITV's TVS for a similar series of concerts in 1988.
