Pop Music on British Television 1955 - 1999

A summer lunchtime show, broadcast between 12.25 - 12.40 pm, hosted by Ed "Stewpot" Stewart who played records, sometimes accompanied by puppet lookalikes of popstars like Elton John, Cliff Richard, Lulu etc. However, some real life popstars like Gary Glitter and Noddy Holder of Slade would turn up to be interviewed or perform a song in the studio. Sometimes the show's tea ladies, Ethel and Irma, would interrupt. There would also be film clips of The Osmonds featured every week, plus some promo clips wre used.

The puppets were designed and operated by a master puppeteers, Roger Stevenson and Harry Stuart, and at the time of writing Roger Stevenson still performs around the world.

The show’s director Ian Bolt would later work on Yorkshire's Pop Quest.
