TV Times gave Joe the coveted front cover for the first edition in late May 1969. The debut show certainly covered all bases from George Formby impersonator Alan Randall to metal monsters Steppenwolf, but most of the guests from then on would be established chart acts.
The final show (2nd August 1969) seems to have been subtitled A Pint of Brown, the original name for the show. Although it never made it to a second series Joe was back in the summer of 1970 on LWT with the Sunday afternoon show simply titled Joe.
Joe was set to record an album of songs for MCA that he featured in the show, but it never materialised.
