TV Times gave Joe the coveted front cover for the first edition in late May 1969. The debut show certainly covered all bases from George Formby impersonator Alan Randall to metal monsters Steppenwolf, but most of the guests from then on would be established chart acts.
The final show seems to have been subtitled A Pint of Brown, which was the working title for the show. Although it never made it to a second series Joe was back in the summer of 1970 on LWT with a Sunday afternoon series simply titled Joe.
