Pop Music on British Television 1955 - 1999

A series of thirty minute mini-concerts by major music stars, broadcast by BBC2 in the months leading up to the change from black and white to colour.


Johnny Mathis, Al Hirt, Herb Alpert and His Tijuana Brass, Rita Pavone, The Brothers Four, Dionne Warwick, Buddy Greco, Barbara McNair & The Duke Ellington Orchestra and the Four Tops were among the largely American line up with a few British and European acts like Herman's Hermits and Françoise Hardy thrown in.


Several of the shows were recorded on location, with some shows recorded in America.
