A series of six shows intended to introduce new local talent alongside well established artists like Dana, Acker Bilk, Mary Wells, Helen Shapiro, Ralph McTell, Gillian McPherson, Joe Brown, The Searchers and Julie Felix.

Produced and directed by Peter Yolland the show was made by Westward, one of the smaller ITV channels and not noted for contributing much to the ITV network.

Some of the new talent were discovered via a Westward talent show, co-sponsored by a brewery. The show's resident hosts were club act Steve 'n Bonnie, backed by the Steve Evans trio. If the show proved successful another talent search would be arranged for 1973.
