Hosted by Rolf Harris from the BBC's Birmingham studios it was another tea time pop show with many of the chart acts of the day performing in the studio, although some of the acts appearing wouldn't necessarily appeal to an audience now wanting Merseybeat. The show took the spot vacated by Pops and Lenny.
The Musical Director was Les Reed, later to write many hit songs for Herman's Hermits, Tom Jones, The Dave Clark Five and many more, while the script was provided by Ray Cooney, later to write many successful West End farces.
